Clean the rails Using a suitable solvent to remove dirt and debris
Keep the rail free of contaminants Such as grease, oil, dried glue, wax, and silicone-based release agents, as these can affect performance
Regularly clean and oil the spindle to maintain smooth operation and prevent wear
If the rail is shiny, roughen both narrow sides with emery cloth (100 grain)
Clean and oil the pressure plate regularly
